Door: Left but he can't figure out whether the door is push or pull

Canon: Mashle
Canon Point: After starting to fight Doom, but before confronting Innocent Zero

Age: 16
Appearance: like if you turned a black cat into a dude

History: Mash on the Mashle Fandom Wiki

Personality:
(+) Compassionate: to the headmaster of his school and some others, Mash is the embodiment of a principle they know as Noblesse Oblige; the concept that the Strong exist entirely for the Weak. he wasn't taught the concept of Noblesse Oblige as a child, but he was taught to be kind to others by his adoptive father figure Regro Burnedead while developing his otherworldly physical strength and resilience. there is a lot of undue pressure being put on Mash, who is constantly being told he doesn't have the right to be alive because he can't do magic. yet, as characters who become loyal to Mash point out, Mash doesn't face the world with bitterness or regret.
Mash is forgiving. his one rule for whether or not a person can be forgiven is if they stop doing the horrible thing they were doing, really. but Mash isn't so forgiving that he won't punch someone who's doing wrong. he'll teach them to stop with his fists, and when they do stop, he'll let them go. Mash might give the impression that he's kind to a fault, but his strength allows him to get out of situations where he's otherwise been abused or taken advantage of.
still, his open disposition allows him to, after proving himself stronger than those who would get in his way, connect with others through the pain they've gone through. Mash never claims to understand feelings he himself hasn't had, but he's willing to accept that others have deep motivations for doing bad things. he just wants them to stop doing the bad things and find new goals. oftentimes, not only is he the first person to have beaten these bad guys' asses, he's also one of the first people to show them real compassion. because of this, he is able to change the hearts of pretty much everyone he meets. he has a balance to him that allows Mash to be a compassionate character who isn't sugar sweet, who isn't afraid to confront the harsh realities of the world. Mash acknowledges them, and not only believes in better, but encourages solidarity toward achieving better.

(-) Dense: it's not that Mash isn't intelligent. it's more that Mash struggles to learn about things that are outside his personal interest. he's an amazing baker, has an incredible sense of sass, and is literally OP muscle-wise, but muscles are the only thing Mash really understands. he breaks doors to the point others hurry to open doors for him, because Mash can't ever remember if doors are 'push' or 'pull' and is so strong that he's capable of knocking a door off its hinges. he admits to not knowing much about romance because he was raised in the woods, he admits himself to Lance Crown that he's not particularly good at things that don't involve muscle, and even in official sources Mash's dislikes are listed as "difficult explanations", exclusively. Mash struggles to listen to and process complex explanations so deeply that he often passes out, falls asleep, or otherwise disassociates until people break things down more simply.
(it should be noted that while Mash is dense about magic and the world around him, he is really, really knowledgeable about sports techniques and applied physics, for the gag.)
Mash struggles to get when people are being mean to him sometimes, struggles to learn new rules, struggles intensely with studying magic. he fails to recognize the faces and names of his foes, even though can recognize their magic spells after they've been used just once. sometimes Mash is even deliberately dense, ignoring others' ill intent to insist upon a more positive spin, though others tend to miss the sass and sarcasm included thanks to his deadpan expression.
it isn't just others who struggle with Mash's density, though. it seems to bother him as well that he struggles with certain things, especially academically, mostly because being bad at them could cost him his education, his time with his friends, and for a little while, even his life. being dense while being so intensely strong has also caused him to harm his father in the past. while he's better about that now that he's older, he sure wasn't happy about it when it happened! he hates inconveniencing others, so even though Mash accepts himself for being dense, he'd probably still say it's a flaw thanks to the trouble it's caused him and others.

(-) Avoidant: while Mash is absolutely unstoppable at the things he's confident at, he's a bit of a self-defeatist with things he lacks confidence in. studying is the most predominant example of this; at some point, Mash is confronted with the reality he might flunk out of school if he doesn't pass his end-of-semester tests. he faces two challenges, though; not only does Mash not study well, he has no prior formal education and is really only good at reading and writing. Mash tries at first to let his friends teach him the way they've learned it all, and becomes frustrated with the work, eventually escaping through a window. when his closest new friend Finn confronts him about it, Mash is immediately defeatist, apologizing and saying that he can't complete the task.
it takes Finn recontextualizing it as Mash having to stand against his enemies bravely even when he can't beat them with muscle for Mash to literally pull himself out of the ground and get back to it.
this isn't the only case we see it happen, either, though it's certainly the biggest example. when dealing with negative emotions in front of friends, Mash even once runs off to enjoy a cream puff in private. it's played as a gag, but we see Mash dealing with those negative emotions both before and after that moment, as another event occurs that he's unable to run from. there's even a fight where Mash lays down and tries to wake up from what he thinks is a 'dream' after learning something heavy about his life. while he rarely runs away from emotional talks if there is a fight going on to keep him around, in other contexts, Mash is quick to run from things he thinks he can't solve with his fists.
we see, especially in the manga (as opposed to the animation), that Mash is also negatively affected by the jeering and abuse he faces from those who don't think he deserves to live, but he doesn't really seem to be open to talking about those feelings very much, even if he can empathize with those who feel the same way.

(-) Rude: while Mash is compassionate and kind, he isn't exactly 'nice'. he's sassy and seems to enjoy, to some degree, getting the better of enemies who think themselves higher than him. he is prone to short but critical comments, especially vocal about behaviors he finds creepy or condescending. while he's also witty, he's incredibly blunt. there are times this bluntness comes from his lack of exposure to the world, but Mash even admits himself that sometimes he does it on purpose as a challenge to someone he can tell is badmouthing him or his friends.
Mash isn't sugary and doesn't bother with platitudes or empty promises, and is often a realist about the abilities of others— as well as their lack thereof. Mash is also not incapable of getting angry, with a fairly average temper, and he can get very... commanding, when he's pissed off. after another character has greatly injured his friends and Mash rushes in to beat the guy up, every time he knocks the guy down, Mash commands him to get up and face the punishment he's earned for hurting Mash's friends.
...it is objectively true that Mash is the physically strongest person in his world, but he's often arrogant about it as well, especially in response to condescension from opponents. he tells one opponent in particular that he's never met anyone stronger than him, dripping excess protein shake from his mouth while looking off into the distance as if bored with his challenger.
Mash generally apologizes if he didn't mean to come across rude, but that doesn't stop others from becoming infuriated by his behavior, and he does use that to his advantage at times. while Mash doesn't ever position himself as being socially more important than anyone else, he often makes others feel ashamed of themselves or otherwise angry because of his nearly-ruthless observations.

Powers and Abilities: okay so. yes. it's true that in Mash's canon he is "unable to use magic". however, his incomparable physique would absolutely be considered superhuman or magical in other contexts. he is full on "Rock Lee dropping his weights to the ground and the earth shattering beneath the weights" buff. Mash is so resilient he can knock away bursts of magical energy like they're volley balls. Mash is so fast he can apparently beat the speed of sound if he uses the area correctly. Mash is so strong he can punch through thick walls with his finger. He can bend metal with his hand, often crushing coins by accident and then bending them back straight, and at some point uses his bare hands to bend an iron wand into a tennis racket. he has an extensive understanding of sports, human physiology, and physics (though he wouldn't be able to teach a class on it) allowing him to use the area around him to his advantage in outmaneuvering magical blows.

Mash is ridiculously, insanely strong. as a result, I really don't mind there being nerfing to some degree, but I also don't plan to have him ever remove his weights anyway. Mash isn't particularly interested in fighting to Be the Strongest and neither am I; I'm here for the hilarity of the power & rule of funny, not the effectiveness, and have no plans to have Mash confront the higher ups in Dup nor to particularly seek out fights with other players.

Inventory: an iron wand. it's not entirely clear if the wand is capable of doing magic since no one but Mash is capable of wielding its weight in his world, so I'm just gonna assume there isn't actual magic in the wand.
